Special Beachfront Park Bond Election August 24, 2010
The City of Ormond Beach will be holding a Special Beachfront Park General Obligation Bond Election on August 24, 2010, to determine if general obligation bonds of the City shall be issued in an aggregate amount of not exceeding Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) to finance all or a portion of the cost of the acquisition and development of lands on the east side of A1A/Atlantic Avenue for a public beachfront park, including preservation of natural areas, dunes, and ocean views, and providing off-beach parking and beach access. Regular Election of Mayor and Commissioners November 2, 2010
The City of Ormond Beach will be holding elections for the office of mayor and a commissioner from each of the City’s four zones. If you think about it, your local government is extremely important to you, because it is at the municipal level that you receive services such as police and fire protection, improvements to your roads, water and sewer service, and recreational and cultural activities. The decisions your City Commission make affect the direction in which your city will be moving today and in the future. This is your opportunity to take part in the decisions that affect you on a day-to-day basis. Every vote counts!
The City’s regular election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. All candidates will run against each other at that time. The candidate with the highest number of votes in the race for mayor or for a commission zone will be declared elected at that time. In the event of a tie vote for any office, the outcome will by determined by drawing lots. The new Commission will take office on November 16, 2010. Terms for all offices are two years.
